I am having a few issues with a scene that will have 2,5gb of videos,
Currently with 900mb of videos Online the scene loads fine, in the online editor it also loads ok, but the desktop app won’t open after adding more than 1gb of video files.
anything I can do?
At this point I will have to used small sample videos then replace them once online, hopefully that will work
It’s likely it’s also related to the number of the auto-played, not only their total size. How many of the videos are started automatically when the scene loads?
So, you could try to use the Video texture control extension to disable Autoplay in the desktop application, and then enable it again in the cloud editor after uploading the scene.
none have auto play, strictly play exclusively with a video texture control, play button
31 videos in total, some are only 50mb
EDIT…
when I load the scene in the desktop editor all the videos are playing, only when I activate the interactivity tab do they stop. if I switch to the materials tab all videos auto play 24/7 even after adding a video texture control
Ahh… right: the extensions, including Video texture control, are respected only in the Interactivity tab, so in the Materials tab all the videos are played.
Have you been able to open this scene in the desktop editor eventually?
The scene got corrupt, would not bundle or upload, had to copy over 150 interactivity extensions from that scene to an older backup, but got it working again.
even 10 videos started to give issues with load times, will attempt videos again.
I was adding video texture controls to Items without videos while waiting for
the videos to arrive from client…
Awesome Support!!
However I did have to use 30 small sample videos as the scene became too slow to work as in the texture panel all the videos would play slowing things to a halt. I uploaded the self hosted scene and replaced the videos on the server. All working Now Whew!
