I need a confirmation that the link does not run on Safari. I tested it on a macbook pro touch bar and it did not look good (safari 11.0.2) The navigation is extremely slow.
the same scene rotates in chrome perfectly.

We do use Safari without noticeable performance differences with Chrome.
It sounds like maybe your system is not using hardware acceleration for WebGL content in Safari. Can you check some other WebGL sites, like for examples: three.js examples and see if there is a difference between Safari and Chrome?
